This night shot was taken by a guests using a technique where they "wrote" in the sky with a light and then took the photos of their names. He is swinging, and thought possibly an owl had swopped by, but when developing the shots, they could see it was a Big Bat! They had a Park Ranger look at the photo, and the bat was identified as a Big Brown Bat. :) I knew we had bats, and we love that...they keep the mosquito population down. I didn't know they were this huge! We do LOVE the majestic Valley Oak the swing is in, and apparently so does the Big Brown Bat:)

Memorial Weekend in Three Rivers
I have Andrew Thomas, Australian photographer, to thank again for this long view shot of the dining room looking into the kitchen and livingroom. The vacation home has an open floor plan with a lot of windows and a skylight in the living room.
Today it is our pleasure to host a family from Hawaii. They came in yesterday, and I actually haven't seen them on the grounds, but look forward to the Aloha spirit. The orientation of our three home compound is condusive to privacy, so you don't readily cross paths. Today I presume they are happily hiking the Sequoia Park Trails. It is a gorgeous 72.5 degrees in Three Rivers, with a lot of golf action off the back yard. Two hundred percent snow pack so the river is roaring by.

Outdoor at the movies
Watch a movie from the heated saltwater spa under the stars! Last nite we visited with guests, Andrew and Deb Thomas of Australia.
What a pleasure! Andrew is a professional photographer and graphics artists. Follow his work at andrewthomasphotographer.blogspot.com His photography is amazing.
We had fun looking at Saturn with the telescope. You can see the telescope to the right of the movie screen.

Delicious!
Families from all over California and across the United States, met up in Three Rivers to celebrate the 1st birthday of one of it's younges members, Wyatt Lee Mesman. Traditionally this is done luau style, with an amazing feast of tongan dishes! The big brick bbq came in handy, and the waterfalls, pool and vibrant greenery gave the guests an "almost island" backdrop.
